Monthly Letters: Ages 7-9 | 6-month subscription
Some of the best things a young child can get fit in an envelope. Every month, Letters from Grownups sends you everything you need to write to a child ages 7-9: a beautiful, human-made letter (not AI), 2 envelopes, 2 stamps.
Each letter, Adult to Child and Child to Adult, has a few fill-in sentences so you never have to stare at a blank page or wonder what's appropriate for each age group.
In 10 minutes or less, you simply add your words, fold the letter, address both envelopes.
The bonus surprise is a $2 bill. Why? $2 bills are special and unique, and you can share with your child that they can save it or spend it. It's up to them, but it's something that can start a little tradition between the two of you.

We always say, "Created for adults, designed for children." And we mean that seriously. Each of these letters was personally crafted by a human being and vetted to ensure quality and safety standards for each age group.
Here's how parents are using them today with their children once they receive the letters:
-
Reading together out loud. Each letter from the adult contains short, warm sentences that a parent or caregiver can read and engage with their child on. topics that are interesting and allow the child to learn about the adult.
-
Short replies are still great replies. For this age group, we know that attention spans are short and that time is very limited, so we know that short replies are to be expected. And because of the age span, some children will be able to fill in some of their answers by themselves, and some won't. The adults with the children have told us that the coloring page helps keep the child engaged while answering the questions the parent writes in the blanks. Because it can take as little as 5 minutes, replies and getting it back into the mail are easy to do.
- It's been crafted to be easy for you. The sender is carrying the weight of the responsibilities by sending out the letters and facilitating the ease of the child's response. Some parents have chosen to use these letters as simple pen pal exchanges, and others have chosen to make it more lengthy - using them to continue to fortify connections and relationships. It's truly up to you on how much your child's blank contains.
How it works
- Subscribe online and download the free Ryder app.
- Receive your first letter from LFG, which includes some instructions and everything you need to get started.
- Fill in your letter and mail it to the child.
- Ryder will remind you, but make sure that the parent is aware that these letters will begin arriving for their child.
Who is this for?
-
For any grownup who wants to show up more meaningfully with a child in their life.
- Aunts, uncles, godparents, grandparents, family friends, parents who are separated from their children, and chosen family. If you care about a young child and want to stay in touch, especially from a distance, this was made for you.
What about privacy and safety for children? Privacy is a core tenet of the project and was built in from the very start.
Everything ships to you, and you mail the letter on to the child. We never need the child's name or address. The Ryder app does provide a way to include a nickname about the child and any specific details that help build the relationship, but they are protected through additional security measures and anonymized to protect each child.
Want more mail at once? Purchase the boxes set which gives you a full year, and all of the letters to choose from.
Warning and disclaimer: If you're someone who's known for getting excited about projects and then finding them in a closet shoved somewhere deep during a spring cleanout, we sincerely recommend doing the month-by-month subscription. You're here because you care. We are here because we want to help you build that connection and keep you successful on your mission.
